Gio Thomas

Gio Thomas returned to Chestnut Hill in January 2020 after a year as the Defensive Coordinator at Father Judge High School. Although the team has not competed on the field since his return due to the pandemic, the team continues to compete in the classroom. Since his return, the team GPA in a given semester has been not lower than a 3.0

Prior to his time at Father Judge, Thomas spent 3 years (2015-2017) at CHC as the Defensive Coordinator. During those years he had the privilege of coaching 15 all league players. His 2017 defense recorded the best scoring defense in school history (20.1ppg) and the most sacks in a season in school history (18).

Thomas spent the previous five years at Central Bucks West High School, where he coached a number of positions including wide receivers and defensive backs. He coached 10 all-league players during his tenure with the Bucks.

A graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School (Pottstown, PA), Thomas was a two-year letter winner at multiple positions with the Wildcats’ football team, collecting a first-team all-league nod as a senior. He continued his football career at Delaware Valley College, where he graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Design.

He currently resides in East Norriton, PA with his wife Mindy and their two children Leo & Gabriella.
