Mike Jones began his tenure with the Chestnut Hill College sprint football program prior to the inaugural 2015 season as the linebackers coach.
A Philadelphia native, Jones played for the Murrell Dobbins Vocations School football team as a junior and senior while attending A. Philip Randolph Career and Technical School (the schools were combined athletically). As an outside linebacker and running back, Jones collected a pair of interceptions and three forced fumbles over that time, also rushing for more than 600 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior, when he was a team captain and All-Public League choice. Jones was set to continue his playing career for the sprint football program at Mansfield University, but suffered a tear in his meniscus that required surgery and was a medical redshirt for the 2013 season.
