Dan Burke '08

A member of the inaugural men’s basketball team, Dan Burke joined the Griffins’ coaching staff following his senior season of 2007-2008. Burke graduated from Chestnut Hill College in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. As a student-athlete Burke was an exemplary scholar earning academic recognition at both the College and Conference levels.

Burke was a captain for the Griffins in his senior season. As a freshman, Burke delivered his top performance against Brooklyn College on February 5, 2004. He recorded 15 points hitting 6-of-10 (60.0%) from the floor, including 3-of-5 (60.0%) from beyond the three-point line. At St. Pius X High School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, he served as a team captain and Most Valuable Player. Coach Burke was selected as All-PAC (Pioneer Athletic Conference) and All-Area performer in his senior season with the Winged Lions.

Academically, Burke was a two-time member of the Chestnut Hill College Athletics All-Academic Teams as well as a 2007 member of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) All-Academic Team. Burke received the Chestnut Hill College Presidential Leadership Award during his senior year. The Presidential Leadership Award is given to five graduating seniors based on their leadership and contributions to the College community.

Coach Burke is currently a graduate assistant in the Chestnut Hill College Athletic Department while pursuing his master’s degree in clinical and counseling psychology. He resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
