Dominique Boone began his collegiate coaching career at Chestnut Hill College prior to the 2013-2014 men’s basketball season. As an assistant under Head Coach Jesse Balcer, Boone intends to help foster the program’s winning attitude and tradition.
After graduating from Middle Tennessee State University in 2007, with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, Boone coached for three years with the MidState Ballerz Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) program of Murfreesboro, Tennessee (2008-2011). In his final year with the Ballerz, Boone served as the program’s Co-Director and U17 coach for a 55-10 team that boasted three McDonald’s All-American nominees. During his tenure with the Ballerz, Boone helped 11 players obtain various National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) athletic scholarships.
Prior to his AAU experience, Boone helped jump start the athletic program at LEAD Academy High School in Nashville, Tennessee. There he served on the coaching staffs for the Panthers 2011-2012 Middle School Boys’ Team and 2012-2013 High School Boys’ Team; leading the middle school boys to a winning record and a top-four finish in the Metropolitan Nashville Public School (MNPS) city tournament before warranting a nomination for the league’s Coach of the Year title with the high school team a year later.
Boone was an Assistant Boys’ Basketball Coach at John Overton High School in Nashville, Tennessee, for the 2010-11 season. There he earned the 2011 Metro Nashville AAA Boys Assistant Coach of the Year title after leading the Bobcats to a 25-8 record and their first Class AAA State Sectional berth in over 15 years. He holds additional camp coaching experiences with Middle Tennessee State University, Tennessee Tech University, and UT-Chattanooga.
In addition to coaching the Griffins, Boone currently teaches physical education and health classes at Young Scholars Kenderton Elementary School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He lives in Philadelphia with his wife Tess and their children; Flynn and Nola.
