Ellison Huggins Jr.

This is Ellison Huggins’ second stint with the Chestnut Hill College’s men basketball program. He was a part of the coaching staff for the 2006-2007 season when he was responsible for film exchange and recruiting. Currently, Huggins develops and mentors post players while continuing to reinforce Coach Balcer’s defensive and a winning philosophies.
 
Huggins was a member of the 1982 Mastbaum Voc-Tech team that won the Philadelphia Public League Championship. Following his high school career, he attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania from 1982-1984. Over his thirty years in the sport, Coach Huggins has been known as a coach, trainer and referee.  He received the 2010 Chuck Cassidy award for his dedication and effort to making a difference in the lives of Northeast Philadelphia children.
 
Coach Huggins, a former United States Army Reservist, graduated from Ashford University in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in organizational management and business administration with a minor in sports recreation management. He also holds a specialization in human recourse management . Huggins currently resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with his wife Bridget and his three children, Julian, Dan and Alyssa.
