After a 1,000-point career at Chestnut Hill College, Julian McFadden joined the men’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach in October of 2010. McFadden was the program’s third 1,000-point scorer, totaling 1,117 points in four years under Head Coach Jesse Balcer. He graduated from Chestnut Hill College in the spring of 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management.

McFadden was a driving force in the program’s consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship Tournament appearances from 2008-2010. McFadden was the program’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) in his junior season (2009-2010), leading the team with 11.6 points-per-game (PPG) and 91 assists. McFadden was selected for the Philadelphia Area Small College Coaches Association (PASCCA) for the Sam Cozen Player of the Week Award and at season’s end he was recognized with an honorable mention for the CACC All-Conference Team in addition to receiving the College's Athletic Director’s Award. As a senior captain, McFadden returned to his reserve role midway through the season adding depth to Coach Balcer’s rotation. McFadden’s best statistical season came as a sophomore when he averaged 13.0 PPG; he recorded the fifth best freshman season in program history with 331 total points. Prior to attending Chestnut Hill College, McFadden was a 1,000-point scorer at Chestnut Hill Academy where he was the men’s basketball MVP for the 2003, 2004, and 2005 seasons.

McFadden is a middle school teacher at World Communications Charter School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He currently resides in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, with his wife Katelin and his sons, Julian and Mason.
