Liban Awl ’19 joined Head Coach J.J. Butler’s staff as an assistant during the 2020-2021 season. Coach Awl’s responsibilities include individual player development and recruitment of the Washington, DC metropolitan area. He also plays a critical role on the Scarlet and Gold’s offensive game plan as his skills are focused on breaking down drills, scouting, and team analytics. Awl began his coaching career as an assistant at Osbourn Park High School (VA) (2019-2020).

During his time at Chestnut Hill College (2015-2019), Awl was a four-year letter winner who ranks among the Scarlet and Gold’s Top-10 All-time in three-point field goals made (6th, 131), thee-point field goals attempted (6th, 384), free throws made (9th, 212), free throw percentage (9th, .760), points (10th, 895), three-point percentage (10th, .341), free throws attempted (10th, 279), and assists (10th, 181).
 
A native of Northern Virginia, Awl was an All-Conference 8 performer while leading Patriot High School to the 2014-2015 Class 6B Regional Tournament. Awl graduated from Chestnut Hill College in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in digital forensics. He also minored in criminal justice.
