Biography

FRESHMAN (2010) - Maurer served as the primary goalie for the Griffins. He started nine games and appeared in 13 to total 520:23 minutes in goal. In addition to 43 ground balls and six caused turnovers, he recorded a 14.18 goals-against-average (GAA) and made 117 saves for a .488 save percentage. Maurer finished the season 3-8.

SOPHOMORE (2011) - Maurer served as the Griffins starting goalie for the second straight season, manning the goal in all 14 contests. In 804:05 total minutes, he recorded 49 ground balls and created two turnovers in addition to making 185 saves on a .569 save percentage. He finished 7-7, which includes two wins over top-five nationally ranked teams, and posted a 10.45 goals-against-average (GAA) for the season. Maurer served as a co-captain during the season and he was honored as the 2011 Team Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the Annual Athletic Awards Reception.

JUNIOR (2012) - For the third straight season Maurer has served as the Griffins primary net minder. In 2012, he continued to serve at a co-captain while starting all 14 games, logging 734:43 minutes, and earning an 8-6 record. Maurer ranked sixth in the ECC for GAA (8.25) and for saves (143), while ranking seventh in save percentage (.586) and eighth in goals allowed (101). Additionally, Maurer ranked second on the team in ground balls (39) and he totaled five caused turnovers. He was recognized as the ECC Goalkeeper of the Week on February 28 after making ten saves in a 7-6 three-overtime, season-opening win over ECC rival, #9 Mercy College. He was mentioned on the ECC Honor Roll on May 8, and was honored at season’s end with the men’s lacrosse Coach’s Award. Maurer was a member of the Chestnut Hill College Athletic Academic Honor Roll for both semesters (Fall 2011 and Spring 2012).

SENIOR (2013) – While serving his third team as a team captain, Maurer ranked fourth in the ECC for saves (151), ninth in the NCAA DII, sixth in save percentage (.551), 19th in NCAA DII, and sixth in the ECC for goal-against-average (10.11 GAA). He additionally collected 16 ground balls and caused two turnovers to earn a 7-6 record, two ECC Weekly Honor Roll mentions (3/5 and 5/1), and one ECC Goalkeeper of the Week award (4/15). He caught fire late in the season and spurred the Griffins to consecutive ECC wins over Mercy College, 12-8 on April 13, Dominican College (NY), 14-3 on April 20, and Dowling College, 18-8 on April 27, to earn his second straight Men’s Lacrosse Coach’s Award. He was also selected as the ECC Men’s Lacrosse Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year and a College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) Academic All-District performer.
