FRESHMAN (2014) – Mondello logged an excellent rookie campaign with the first-ever Chestnut Hill College track and field team. He finished 6th in the 1500 Meter Run (4:37.11) at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championships as the Griffins claimed the team crown in their first-ever appearance in the event. Christian Leary for an outdoor best time of 3:42.93 (14
th) at the Penn Relays. He turned in a strong performance in the Men's 1500 Meter Run (9th, 4:21.24) at the Collegiate Track Conference Championship and led the way in the distance events at the Millersville University Metrics, recording a time of 4:29.59 in the Men's 1500 Meter Run to place 2nd in his heat. Mondello was honored on the Chestnut Hill College Athletics Academic Honor Roll (Spring 2014).
SOPHOMORE (2015) – Mondello was recognized on the CACC Spring 2015 All-Academic Team and the Chestnut Hill College Spring 2015 Athletics Academic Honor Roll while earning the team’s Coach’s Award. He turned in two 1
st place finishes with the 4x8 relay team at the Gwynedd-Mercy College Mid-Week Twilight Invitational (8:42.70) and the University of Delaware Classic (9:51.76). He also recorded six other top-ten finishes; 8
th (4:18.74) in the 4x4 relay at the St. Joseph’s College Winter Invitational on January 17, 5
th (9:19.69) in the 4x8 relay and 9
th (4:51.81) in the mile run at the Frank Colden Invitational February 7, 4
th (8:52.91) in the 4x8 relay and 2
nd (11:03.91) distance medley relay at the Molloy College Invitational on February 13, and 7
th (9:11.55) in the 3,000 meter at the Roadrunner Tune-Up on February 20.
JUNIOR (2016) – Mondello finished 22
nd in the 1,500 meter (4:17.35; season best) at the Philadelphia College Classic on March 19. He was a member of the first-place distance medley relay (10:41.97) at the St. Joseph’s Spring Opener on March 26. Mondello placed ninth in the 800 meter (2:01.14; season best), and 10
th as a member of the 4x400 meter relay (3:44.37) at the Danny Curran Invitational April 1-2. He finished 15
th as a member of the 4x400 meter relay (3:35.57) “A” team, 22
nd as a member of the 4x400 meter relay (4:08.05) “B” team, and competed in the 400 meter at the Widener Invitational April 22-23. Mondello earned the 2015-16 Division II Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Award, CACC Spring 2016 All-Academic recognition, and recognition on the Chestnut Hill College fall 2015 and spring 2016 Athletics Academic Honor Rolls
