Nakaida Monroe Thomas joined the Chestnut Hill College women’s basketball coaching staff prior to the start of the 2017-2018 season. Thomas was a four-year member (2010-2014) of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival, Bloomfield College women’s basketball team who secured the 2013-2014 league championship.
 
Thomas began seeing regular playing time at Bloomfield College as a junior (2012-2013), when she averaged 2.8 PPG (71 points) and 3.0 RPG (75 rebounds) in excess of recording six assists, 20 steals, and 13 blocks in 25 games (25gp-6gs). The following season (2013-2014), Thomas started in 24 of the Bears’ 30 contests; offering 6.3 PPG (189 points), 5.8 RPG (174 rebounds), 28 assists, 25 steals, and six blocks to Bloomfield College’s run to a CACC Championship. Thomas played her high school basketball at Trenton Catholic Academy.
