Biography
FRESHMAN (2017-2018) - Covic offered a 5-3 (1-0 @ #2, CACC 3-0) individual record at the Griffins’ number four singles position. She paired with junior Daniela Siqueira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) (0-2 @ #1, 3-2 @ #2) with a 3-4 overall record. Three weeks out of the season, Covic earned three Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Tennis Weekly Honor Roll mentions (9/25, 9/19, 10/3). Her September 25 mention was captured at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Region Championships where she advanced to the third round and earned herself a spot on the Honor Roll list. Covic challenged Queens College junior Reehan Rashad (Alexandria, Egypt) to a 6-2, 6-3, end in the third round. Sophomore Barbara Broville (Toulouse, France) was a second doubles partner for Covic, recording an overall 1-2 record at the number one spot. Academically, Covic earned recognition on the Chestnut Hill College Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 Athletic Academic Honor Rolls.
SOPHOMORE (2018-2019) – Sanchez was recognized with the Coach's Award for intangible contributions to the team's success. She finished the 2018-2019 season with a 1-5 singles record – playing primarily in the third individual flight (1-4) - and a 2-5 number three doubles record alongside freshman Gianna Vassalluzzo (Newtown, Pa.) (1-2) and junior Nicole Yang (Blue Bell, Pa.) (1-3). Sanchez earned academic recognition on both the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 Chestnut Hill College Athletic Academic Honor Rolls, the 2018 CACC Women’s Tennis All-Academic Team, and was a recipient of both the 2018-2019 ITA All-Academic Award and the 2018-2019 Division II Athletic Directors Association (D2ADA) Academic Achievement Award.
