Ellis Geer joined the Chestnut Hill College women’s volleyball coaching staff as an assistant prior to the 2014 season. With experience as a club coach in southern New Jersey and Illinois, Geer is passionate about volleyball and the benefits it provides to the life of well-rounded student-athletes.
Geer began his volleyball coaching career in 2010 with the Chicago Bounce Volleyball Club of Deerfield, Illinois. There, Geer assisted in scheduling and organizing tournaments while training athletes, ages of 15-18, on rules, fundamentals, and teamwork. He carried his experience with him to Voorhees, New Jersey, where he took on head coaching duties for the South Jersey Volleyball Club (SJVBC). Since 2012, Geer has served as a Head Coach for the club’s Men’s 16’s team, Men’s Under-18 team, and Women’s Under-17 team. While working in southern New Jersey, Geer has also been involved with SJVBC’s beach program.
Geer has been playing volleyball competitively since 2000, including four years at Stevenson High School of Lincolnshire, Illinois, where he received an All-Area Honorable Mention his senior season, and two years of club play at The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State). Geer graduated from Penn State in 2010 with a degree in management information systems. He currently resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
