Kurt Godfrey joined the Chestnut Hill College women’s volleyball coaching staff as an assistant prior to the 2018 season. With a notable combination of coaching and playing involvement at the high school and club team level, Godfrey's prior experiences will aid in his efforts of bringing a successful season to Chestnut Hill College.
Godfrey began his volleyball coaching career in 2009 at Harcum College holding the title as Associate Head Coach. He had a brief stay at the college and then transitioned into the Assistant Head Coach of Boys Volleyball at Central Bucks South High School the following year (2010). There, Godfrey has spent the last twelve years (2010-2022) coaching with both the boys and girls teams, quickly ascending to become the head varsity coach for both programs. As the girls head coach, he has amassed a 101-55 overall record and made playoff appearances for each season (2013-2021).
At the club level, he recently finished his fifth season with East Coast Power Volleyball Club. In August, he was named Co-Director of the East Coast Power Bucks Division. Previously, he coached four seasons at GPS Crush where he coached at the elite level within the program. He also took on the role of Associate Director for Player & Parent Relations (2014-2017) for the program during his stint.
As a player, Godfrey was a three-year varsity starter at Pennridge High School, fulfilling the defensive specialist position and he also was a four-year member of the Shippensburg Men’s Volleyball Club Team. He started three seasons as a defensive specialist and libero for the club team.
Godfrey graduated from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania in 2007 with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Sociology. He currently lives in Perkasie, PA with his wife (Lauryn), newborn baby (Thomas), and their two dogs (Ellie & Pepper).
