Chestnut Hill College Athletics

FRESHMAN (2008) – Tohanczyn earned the team’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in her first season. She facilitated 188 assists from the setter position and also led the team in aces with 16. Tohanczyn was a defensive contributor as well, providing 111 digs and nine blocks. She earned Chestnut Hill College Academic Honor recognition for both semesters (fall 08 and spring 09).

SOPHOMORE (2009) - Tohanczyn continued to be one of the Griffins' top performers when healthy. She battled through injuries to play in 24 matches and start 20. She tied for fourth on the team in kills (62), fifth in aces (19), fifth in digs (94), and second in blocks (25). Tohanczyn was an honorable mention for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week Award on September 7 after totaling six kills, 23 assists, seven aces, ten digs, and a block in back-to-back wins on September 1 (Gwynedd-Mercy College) and September 2 (Rosemont College). She repeated on the Chestnut Hill College Academic Honor Roll for both semesters (fall 09 and spring 10) while also earning All-Academic status from the CACC.

JUNIOR (2010) - In her first season as Captain, Tohanczyn filled in where she could. Continuing to battle injury, Tohanczyn contributed 22 kills, nine assists, an ace, 19 digs, and two blocks in only 19 matches. She earned a spot on the CACC All-Academic Team for the second straight season and was recognized on the Chestnut Hill College Academic Honor Roll for both semesters (fall 10 and spring 11).
