Philadelphia, PA – (11/2/2009) – Chestnut Hill College visited Philadelphia University this evening for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match. The Griffins hung with the Lady Rams in the early going, however, Philadelphia University managed to run off with a 25-18 win in the opening game. They followed that with a decisive 25-12 win in game two, before scraping out the third game 25-20 for a 3-0 (25-18, 25-12, 25-20) win.
Chestnut Hill College (5-24, 1-17) challenged Philadelphia University (29-5, 16-2) on every serve in the beginning of game one. The Griffins tailed 16-15, before the Lady Rams mounted a late surge to take the opening game 25-18. The Lady Rams carried their momentum into the second game as they quickly built a 21-9 advantage before claiming a 25-12 win. The Griffins did not go away without a fight. They trailed the Lady Rams 10-8 midway through game three, however, Philadelphia University protected their home court and finished off the Griffins with a 25-20 win.
