Millersville, PA – (9/13/2009) – The Chestnut Hill College men's tennis team opened their fall schedule this afternoon with a match at Millersville University. The Griffins took points at number three and four singles, but the Marauders swept all remaining matches to take the match 7-2.

Millersville University (1-0) got off to a 3-0 lead sweeping doubles play. Chestnut Hill College (0-1) had their best showing at number three doubles, as sophomore Adrian Avena (Vineland, NJ) and freshman John Reading (Phoenixville, Pa.) fell 8-5. Reading, however, did earn his first collegiate win with an individual victory at number four singles. He won the flight 8-7 (9-7). Sophomore Julius Twyman (Coatesville, PA ) earn the other Griffin point, winning number three singles 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-5).

The men's tennis team will join the women's side for a trip to Bloomsburg University on Wednesday, September 16. The match is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. start.
