Chestnut Hill College Men's Tennis athlete Noah Cutting was named to the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Men's Tennis team in an announcement from the organization on Monday. Cutting is one of six student-athletes selected to the team. The men's tennis team is voted on by the sports information offices of 30 institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
Cutting becomes the third men's tennis player in program history to earn Philly-SIDA Area all-Academic Team honors, joining Jesus Daria (2019-20) and Joao Sousa (2021-22,, 2022-23)
In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area, an athlete must be in his or her second year at the institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better. A student in graduate school must have at least a 3.30 grade point average in both undergraduate and graduate school (if not in first semester of graduate program).
Cutting is pursuing his master's degree in educational studies after having graduated from Chestnut Hill College with a degree in business administration and management in 2024. He turned a solid performance this season producing a 23-10 overall record with a 14-1 mark in singles play. He was perfect in conference singles matches this season (6-0) and perfect in all dual match singles play (13-0). He recorded his 100th career win earlier this year and finished his career with a 106-48 mark and the second highest winning percentage in program history (.688).
A three-time All-conference honoree during his undergraduate years as a Griffins, Cutting has earned Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors three times this year and was recently named the PSAC Men's Tennis Athlete of the Year. He has also earned a plethora of academic accolades. Cutting is a three-time ITA Scholar Athlete, a two-time CACC All-Academic team and D2ADA Academic Achievement Award honoree and is a member of two honor societies, Chi Alpha Sigma, the national college athlete honor society and Sigma Beta Delta Business Honor Society, being inducted into both in 2023.
Cutting is joined on the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Men's Tennis Team, by Swarthmore college standout Michael Melnikov, who earned 2025-26 Performer of the Year honors, along with his teammate Utham Koduri. The rest of the team is filled out by Penn's Manfredi Graziani and Aaron Sandler, and Haverford's Niki Lavu.
