Philadelphia, PA - (10/26/10) – Chestnut Hill College traveled downtown this evening for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match with the University of the Sciences. Despite a holding the Devils to nine points in the third set and a career night from sophomore right side Madelynn Ries (Antananarivo, Madagascar) the Griffins lost the match 3-1 (25-17, 25-20, 9-25, 25-18).

Senior setter Sarah Hickman (Newark, DE) joined classmate, middle blockers Cady Rich (Shelton, CT) and Christine Puschak (Leola, PA) in leading the University of the Sciences (8-12, 6-10) Hickman supplied 20 assists, while Rich and Puschak killed nine balls apiece. Rich and Puschak also pitched in defensively with three blocks and two blocks, respectively. Sophomore libero Stacey Wooden (Levittown, PA) led the Devils defensive effort with 17 digs.

Ries led Chestnut Hill College (4-21, 1-13) with, a career-high, 15 kills. She was complimented on the Griffin frontline by sophomore middle hitter Cassie Benson (Rosamond, CA), who totaled seven kills and two blocks. Sophomore setter Courtney Gallo (Wilmington, DE) directed the offense with 24 assists and freshman setter Allison Eberly (Orwigsburg, PA) joined in with another 12 assists. Defensively, sophomore libero Elisabeth DiGregorio (Conshohocken, PA) and sophomore defensive specialist Bobbie Chukuntarod (San Francisco, CA) hustled to 21 digs and 14 digs, respectively.

The women's volleyball team continues their CACC schedule with a 7:00 p.m. match at Wilmington University on Thursday, October 28.
