Philadelphia, PA – (3/31/2010) – Chestnut Hill College welcomed local Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival, Philadelphia University to campus this afternoon for a meeting of two to the region's top men's tennis teams. The Rams grabbed a 2-1 lead in doubles play before completing a 7-2 victory by claiming all but number four singles.

Sophomore Julius Twyman (Coatesville, PA) had a hand in both of the Griffins' points with an individual victory at number four singles and a share of the win at number two doubles. Twyman teamed with junior Carson Richter (Lafayette Hill, PA) to defeat sophomores Ryan Christopher (Pottstown, PA) and Eric Guerrero (Lawrence, MA) 8-2 at number two doubles. Philadelphia University (9-4, 3-1) won number one and number three doubles 8-3.

Twyman also recorded the lone individual victory for Chestnut Hill College (7-6, 2-1). He claimed a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Christopher in the fourth singles flight. Freshman John Reading (Phoenixville, PA) gave a strong fight at number six singles, falling 6-2, 7-5.

The men's tennis team takes to the road as they continue their CACC schedule with a 3:00 p.m. match at Bloomfield College on Thursday, April 1.
