Caldwell, NJ – (4/5/2010) – Chestnut Hill College only surrendered three games to Caldwell College as the Griffins posted a 9-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory on the Cougars. The Griffins dictated play sweeping both formats of play; freshman Joe Boyle (Doylestown, PA) set the tone with a 6-0, 6-0 win at number one singles.
Sophomore Julius Twyman (Coatesville, PA) and freshman John Reading (Phoenixville, PA) followed Boyle's play winning number three and number five singles, respectively, by the same 6-0, 6-0 final. Freshman Pat Joson (Old Bridge, NJ) took number two singles 8-1, which was the same score by which sophomore David Negron (Philadelphia, PA) claimed victory at number four singles. Sophomore Adrian Avena (Vineland, NJ) won number six singles in shutout fashion, 8-0.
Caldwell College (0-3, 0-3) was only able to grab one game from Chestnut Hill College (8-7, 3-2) in doubles play. Boyle and Joson won the top doubles flight 8-1, while the Griffins won number two and number three doubles 8-0.
The men's tennis team returns home to host Neumann University in a 4:00 p.m. match tomorrow, Tuesday, April 6.
