Philadelphia, PA – (10/18/2011) – In a draining Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) affair, Chestnut Hill College eventually fell 3-1 (25-22, 32-34, 25-20, 25-14) to Philadelphia University. The Griffins took the upper hand with a 25-22 win in the opening set, but a marathon second set turned the momentum in the Lady Rams favor, as the visitors rallied for the victory 34-32, 25-20, 25-14.

Alex DePalma (Shillington, PA) made six kills and freshman setter
Sidney Chukuntarod (San Francisco, CA) provided 13 assists, but it was not enough to scare off Philadelphia University (12-11, 9-5 CACC). The Lady Rams rallied to a 34-32 win in the second set, before winning the match with wins of 25-20 and 25-14 in the final two sets.
Sophomore outside hitter Brittany Olson (Sycamore, IL) led the Lady Rams with 21 kills, two aces, and 14 digs. She was supported by 18 kills and 22 digs from junior outside hitter Danielle Carney (Thousand Oaks, CA) and 26 assists from senior setter Adrienne Stigura (Reading, PA). Junior setter Morgan McCarthy (Beaver, PA) made 22 digs.
DePalma matched Olson with 21 kills for the Griffins. She also scored an ace and made 17 digs. Chukuntareod directed the Griffins offense with 43 assists, helping freshman right side
Katie Schock (Allentown, PA) to ten kills. Junior libero
Liz DiGregorio (Conshohocken, PA) hustled 25 digs.
The women's volleyball team remains home to host Post University in a 5:00 p.m. CACC match on Friday, October 18. The Griffins will be hosting their Side-out Foundation Dig Pink event in support of research for breast cancer.
