Nyack, NY – (10/8/2011) – The women's volleyball team endured a tough Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match at Nyack College this afternoon, as the Warriors scored a 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 26-19) home win. Junior setter Amelia Moore (Austin, TX) was a one-women wrecking crew for the Warriors with 12 kills on a .500 hitting percentage and 22 assists.
Moore led Nyack College (8-9, 7-4) to victory with help from sophomore setter Brianna Kane (Bethany, CT) and a host of hustling defenders. Kane offered five kills and 17 assists, while junior outside hitter Tawnie Savage (Yuba City, CA), sophomore outside hitter Debbie Schendell (Great Falls, MT) and junior libero Michelle Makela (Cocoa, FL) combined for 46 digs. Makela led with 16 digs.
Chestnut Hill College (9-12, 4-5) had its best showing in the third set, but still only sported a .122 (9K-4E-41TA) hitting percentage. Sophomore outside hitter
Alex DePalma (Shillington, PA) led the Griffins in kills, scoring 11 kills in addition to making nine digs. Freshman setter
Sidney Chukuntarod (San Francisco, CA) provided help on both sides of the net with 18 assists and ten digs. Junior libero
Liz DiGregorio (Conshohocken, PA) anchored the defensive effort with 19 digs and freshman right side
Katie Schock (Allentown, PA) offered a second option on offense with five kills.
