Philadelphia, PA – (9/15/2011) – The Gallagher Center served as the setting for a memorable Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match this evening, as Chestnut Hill College visited the Lady Rams for a South Division battle. The Griffins got off to a strong start, taking the first, two sets 27-25 and 25-21, but the Lady Rams rallied to earn the CACC victory 3-2 by taking the third set 25-20, the fourth set 25-16, and the deciding set 15-12.

A trio of Griffins combined to propel Chestnut Hill College (5-6, 0-2) to a 2-0 advantage. Sophomore outside hitter Alex DePalma (Shillington, PA), freshman right side Katie Schock (Allentown, PA) and freshman setter Sidney Chukuntarod (San Francisco, CA) helped the Griffins comeback and steal the opening set, before overpowering Philadelphia University (3-5, 1-1) with a .351 (18K-5E-37TA) hitting percentage in the second set. Unfortunately, the Lady Rams were all but defeated, as senior setter Adrieene Stigura (Reading, PA) and sophomore setter Heather Martin (Leola, PA) split 46 assists in the reprise. Junior outside hitter Ellie Edgar (Cuyahoga Falls, OH) was the main beneficiary with 13 kills and a .346 (13K-4E-26TA) hitting percentage. She was helped by senior outside hitter Rebekah Waybrant (Gettysburg, PA), who provided ten kills and 30 digs.

The Griffin trio was equally effective on both sides of the net. DePalma totaled 16 kills, an ace, and 15 digs. Schock recorded 13 kills and five blocks, while Chukuntarod supplied two aces, 41 assists, 17 digs. Five Griffins reached double-digit digs; junior libero Liz DiGregorio (Conshohocken, PA) led the team's defensive effort with 27 digs.
