Philadelphia, PA – (4/3/2012) – The University of the Sciences (USciences) held the advantage heading to singles play, but Chestnut Hill College rallied as individuals to earn 5-4 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory over the Devils. Depth played as the Griffins key asset, as the home team scored wins at number two, four, five, and six singles.

Mike Humes (Medford, NJ) and sophomore
Manuel Ceniceros (Mexico City, Mexico) won a critical match at number two doubles, 8-3, for Chestnut Hill College (9-7, 3-1), as USciences (4-6, 2-3) claimed number one and number three doubles by the same score, 8-3. The Devils looked the hold on for the win with victories at number one singles, 6-1, 6-4, and number three singles, 6-3, 6-2, but the Griffins stood strong on their home courts and retorted with wins in the remaining singles matches. Yoann Pham (Boulogne-Billancourt, France) won number two singles 6-4, 6-4, senior
Julius Twyman (Coatesville, PA) earned the point at number four singles 6-3, 6-1, freshman
Sammy Atri (Mexico City, Mexico) took number five singles 6-4, 6-3, and sophomore
Jeramy Solema (Briarwood, NY) claimed number six singles 6-4, 6-4.
The men's tennis team will join the women's tennis team in hosting a dual match against Queens College on Saturday, April 7. The women will open with an 11:00 a.m. start, followed by a 2:00 p.m. start for the men.
