Alyssa Tamsing (Ventura, Calif.) proved as the Griffins top performers, but the home team took two losses; first to the Warriors 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-22) and the second to the Golden Lions, 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-12).
In the day's opening match, Chestnut Hill College (4-8) challenged Nyack College (2-3) in non-conference competition. The Warriors hit .342 (47K-8E-114TA) as a team with senior outside hitter Moana Masaniai (Waipahu, Hawaii) leading the effort on 16 kills and a .452 (16K-2E-31TA) hitting percentage. Freshman middle blocker Samantha Garza (North Branch, Mich.) and junior outside hitter Debbie Schendel (Great Falls, Mont.) also hit well, Garza scoring 12 kills on a .458 (12K-1E-24TA) hitting percentage and Schendel recording 11 kills on a .478 (11K-0E-23TA) hitting percentage. Schendel also made 18 digs. Junior setter Brianna Kane (Bethany, Conn.) was the fuel for the Warrior offense, providing 38 assists. For the Griffins, sophomore outside hitter
Kaitlyn Schock (Allentown, Pa.) led the offense with nine kills, while Gruver totaled eight kills on Tamsing's 27 assists. The Griffin defensive effort was headlined by 16 digs from junior outside hitter

Dowling College (7-1) topped the Griffins in the final match of the afternoon, hitting .232 (41K-15E-112TA), but also recording eight team blocks in the affair. Senior outside hitter Bethany Shepard (Lakewood, Colo.) and freshman outside hitter Franki Dove (Manorville, N.Y.) feed off the feed of freshman setter Kayla Dillman (Rochester, N.Y.) and junior setter Mirjana Radovanovic (Dubrovnik, Croatia), who combined for 34 assists. Shepard led the Golden Lions with 11 kills, 14 digs, and two blocks. Gruver was the Griffins top player with 11 kills and ten digs. Tamsing offered 27 assists, while junior middle hitter
Mary Markowski (Parkton, Md.) contributed eight kills and four blocks in the losing effort.
