Box Score Nyack, N.Y. - (10/19/2013) – Meeting some stiff Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) competition at Nyack College this afternoon, the Chestnut Hill College women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 (25-16, 28-26, 25-16) loss at the hands of the Warriors. The Griffins dropped the opening set 25-16, and rivaled the Warriors to a 28-26 second-set defeat, before bowing out on another 25-16 loss.
Sophomore middle blocker Samantha Garza (North Branch, Mich.) topped an efficient Nyack College (14-11, 10-2) offense with 12 kills on a .400 (12K-2E-25TA), an ace, four digs, and three blocks. Senior setter Brianna Kane (Bethany, Conn.) fueled the Warriors with 29 assists while graduate libero Michelle Makela (Cocoa, Fla.) led a quartet of double-digit diggers with 20.
Chestnut Hill College (7-15, 5-6) was led by freshman outside hitter
Madison McBride (Long Beach, Calif.), who scored nine points with six kills, three aces, and 13 digs. Senior outside hitter
Alexandra DePalma (Shillington, Pa.) matched McBride's kill mark and made 11 digs. Freshman setter
Emily Drew (Ringoes, N.J.) hoisted 20 assists and dug 19 balls while freshman libero
Regina Trabosh (Norristown, Pa.) led the defensive effort with 23 digs.
The women's volleyball team continues their CACC schedule at the University of the Sciences on Wednesday, October 23, for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
