Madison McBride (Long Beach, Calif.), who went for 21 kills, two aces, and 16 digs in her 13
th double-double of the season, but after scoring a 25-19 win in the opening set the Griffins went back and forth with the Devils to a 3-2 loss in succeeding sets of 21-25, 28-30, 25-17, 8-15.
USciences (11-15, 7-6) had two players with 20 or more kills as freshman middle hitter Sarah Sullivan (St. Cloud, Fla.) went for 22 and junior outside hitter Amanda DeAngelo (Vestal, N.Y.)
added another 20 as the Devils top point producers. They and junior blocker Rachel Martin (Troy, N.Y.) benefitted from the 58 assists of junior setter Kaileen Bevenour (Sicklerville, N.J.). Sophomore libero Nicole Rivera (Pittsford, N.Y.) led the Devil defense with 32 digs.
McBride led the Chestnut Hill College (7-16, 5-7) effort with her 23.5 point effort. She was supported by ten-kill performances from junior right side
Kaitlyn Schock (Allentown, Pa.) and sophomore middle hitter
Rachel Biro (Nazareth, Pa.). Each also offered three blocks on defense, but it was 35 digs from freshman libero
Regina Trabosh (Norristown, Pa.) that captained the Griffins defensive effort.
