Madison McBride (Long Beach, Calif.) recorded her 12
th double-double and scored an ace as the Griffins top performer versus the Tigers.
Chestnut Hill College (6-11, 4-4) scored the match's first six points and won the opening set by a 25-22 final, before having to rally against a 2-1 Holy Family University (8-9, 5-3) advantage with a runaway 25-17 fourth-set victory, 2-2. The deciding set remained knotted through 9-9 and saw the Tigers pull away, 11-9, before a 3-2 Griffin run forced a home timeout at 12-12. The Tigers repaid the favor with the Griffins looking to talk things over after a prompt home point, 13-12. The CACC rivals split the next two points, 14-13, but the Griffins final serve was ended with a 17
th successful strike from sophomore outside hitter Charlotte Sabatano (Frederick, Md.), 15-13.
Sabatano led the Tigers with 17 kills, an ace, 13 digs, and a block, but she had plenty of help from three others in double-digit kills; offensively by 11 team aces and 49 assists from senior setter Chelsea Keegan (Bucyrus, Ohio), and defensively by 19 digs from junior outside hitter Devyn Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa.) and a double-double performance from sophomore right side Rachel Johnson (New Lenox, Ill.). Johnson totaled 12 kills, tow aces, ten digs, and three blocks.
McBride's 12 kills, ace, 13 digs, and a block was supported by 29 assists from freshman setter
Emily Drew (Ringoes, N.J.) and complimented by three double-digit dig efforts and three blocks apiece from their middle hitters, senior middle hitter
