Chestnut Hill College (2-7, 1-1) faced an uphill battle at Goldey-Beacom College (3-6, 0-2) after dropping the first two sets of the match 25-20 and 25-19. In the third set, the Griffins led early before allowing the Lightning to knot the contest at 15-15. An 8-1 run gave the Griffins a 23-17 advantage that quickly became a 25-17 win on back-to-back kills from Biro. The Griffins ran away with the fourth set, evening the match score at 2-2 with a 25-16 win. In the deciding set, the Griffins stayed two steps ahead of the Lightning, leading 12-7 before winning by the same margin, 15-10.
The Lightning was led up front by junior outside hitters Kadi McCoy (Dallastown, Pa.) and Taylor Moyer (Schuylkil Haven, Pa.) who combined for 34 kills. Each also recorded two assists, but Moyer made her effort a double-double with 14 kills and ten digs. Freshman setter Kim Matlock (Jackson, N.J.) provided 33 assists while four Lightning, including Moyer, recorded at least ten digs.
Biro hit .467 (16K-2E-30TA) while leading the Griffins with her 16 kills, two digs, and seven blocks. Tamsing paired 33 assists with three digs and two blocks, supporting 21 digs from Trabosh. Outside hitters, senior

The women's volleyball team returns to Sorgenti Arena on Friday, September 20, to begin a six-match home stand with a 5:00 p.m. contest against Queens College.
