Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. - (9/27/2013) – Taking their fourth straight match to a full five sets, the Chestnut Hill College women's volleyball team finished on the wrong side of a 3-2 (26-24, 20-25, 16-25, 25-23, 12-15) final with Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival Caldwell College this evening. Despite taking the first set 26-24 and evening the match with a 25-23 fourth set victory, the Griffins were unable to capture the Cougars in front of the Superhero crowd of Sorgenti Arena.
With the entertaining support of Superhero Night behind them, Chestnut Hill College (3-9, 1-3) excited the home crowd by leading for the majority of a 26-24 opening set victory against Caldwell College (7-7, 4-0), 1-0. The Cougars recovered from the loss with the match's next two set-victories with wins of 25-20 and 25-16 in the second and third sets, respectively, 2-1. Determined to please, the Griffins extended the match to a decisive fifth set when they rallied from a 19-16 deficit to defeat the Cougars 25-23 in the fourth set, 2-2. Regina Trabosh (Norristown, Pa.) gave the Griffins a narrow edge, 2-1, but the set remained tight for the duration, and eventually concluded in the Cougars favor on a couple Griffin misplays, 15-12.
The Cougars clawed their way to victory behind the play of senior setter Lisa Roth (Gilbert, Ariz.) and junior libero Jaclyn Del Cid (Bogota, N.J.). Roth scored five aces and fed a four-headed attack with 49 assists, while also helping Del Cid with 12 digs and a block. Freshman outside hitter Taylor Zaeske (South Milwaukee, Wis.) led the Cougars hitters with 15 kills. She also recorded nine digs and a block. Three others finished with double-digit kills, including junior outside hitter Athena Nestoras (Los Angles, Calif.) who recorded a double-double with 14 kills and 14 digs.

Madison McBride (Long Beach, Calif.) was the Griffins top scorer with 18 kills, three aces, and 16 digs. She was supported by senior outside hitter
