New Haven, Conn. – (4/15/2015) – Securing their fourth consecutive #2 seed with a 9-0 win over the University of the Sciences (USciences) on Thursday, April 9, the Chestnut Hill College men's tennis team have reached their seventh straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship Tournament. The Griffins are joined in the title field of competitors by six-time CACC Champion #6 Concordia College (NY), who will serve as the top seed, Post University, and Philadelphia University. Chestnut Hill College will serve as the host site for the seventh straight year as semifinal matches for this year's tournament are currently scheduled for 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18.
Championship weekend at Chestnut Hill College will kick off on the night of Friday, April 17, with the annual All-CACC Awards Banquet, honoring the student-athletes competing in the championship as well as those who were recently named to the All-CACC Team and garnered the league's major year-end awards.
Competition begins on Saturday, April 18, with the semifinals, when top-seeded and regular season champion Concordia College (NY) takes on #4 Philadelphia University in a 10:00 a.m. semifinal match that will be followed by a 1:00 p.m. semifinal that places #2 Chestnut Hill College opposite #3 Post University. The winners of the two semifinal matches will advance to Sunday's, April 19, CACC Championship which is scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. opening serve.
The Clippers enter the weekend with a 15-4 overall record and a perfect 6-0 mark in CACC play. They were led by a plethora of All-CACC performers including CACC Player of the Year senior Benas Majauskas (Vilnius, Lithuania) and All-CACC Rookie of the Year freshman Jui Mao (Taipei, Taiwan). Meanwhile, the Eagles produced a 10-10 overall record and 3-3 mark in league action to their second consecutive CACC Championship Tournament. They were led by freshman Martin Munoz (Las Palmas, Spain), who was named to the All-CACC First-Team. Led by All-CACC Second Team selection, junior Celso de Vera Rehberger (Oviedo, Spain), the Rams were 10-11 overall and 3-3 in CACC competition.

Albert Stroble, who was recently recognized for his 100
th career win, the Griffins comes into the semifinals with a 5-1 record in conference play, while also sporting a 14-7 overall mark. Their standing recently garnered them their first national ranking (#49) and placed two members on the All-CACC roster in freshman First Team selection

The winner of the championship will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament held in late April/early May.
