Box Score Waterbury, Conn. - (9/19/2015) – Post University outshot visiting Chestnut Hill College by a 22-7 discrepancy this afternoon, but senior midfielder Nicholas Jaffe (Sao Paulo, Brazil) had the only one that mattered, a booming free kick from 30 yards out in the first half (29:49) that proved the difference in a crucial 1-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) conquest. Jaffé's third goal of the season stood up thanks to junior goalkeeper James Jackson (Sewell, N.J.) and the Griffin back line, which stood tall to help the scarlet and gold remain unbeaten in conference play and post their third straight shutout in the series.
 
Jackson made three saves and survived three corner kicks in the first 11 minutes, keeping Chestnut Hill College (3-2-1, 2-0-1) in position to gain the upper hand. The Griffins did in the 30^th minute (29:49), when Jaffé connected from distance to deliver a hard-earned lead. Despite the persistent onslaught by Post University (2-4, 1-2), Jackson and company made it stand up.
 
The junior made six of his eight saves in the first half, but the Griffin backfield headed by juniors Sam Sheppard (Dagenham, England) and Nils Fussen (Aachen, Germany) and sophomore Lindsay Murdoch (Perth, Scotland) steeled themselves from there, allowing just two shots on goal by the hosts after intermission. The last of those was a header at the 72:52 mark, after which the Eagles managed four shots; three of them sailed wide and another was blocked. By the time a last-ditch effort (89:05) went begging, Chestnut Hill College could celebrate a hard-earned road triumph.
 
Freshman midfielder Andre Riello (Sao Paulo, Brazil) put all four of his shots on goal for Post, but Jackson was there each time. Senior forward Francisco Sastre (Sao Paulo Brazil) led all players with five shots. Junior goaltender Serigne Baba Gaye (Dakar, Senegal) made one save in the loss (2-4).
 
Jaffé recorded three of Chestnut Hill College's seven attempts, with freshman midfielder Tyler Johnson (Howell, N.J.) providing two. Jackson tied his season high with eight saves in his first shutout of the 2015 campaign (3-2-1), the 11^th of his career. Jackson's next clean sheet will tie him with Michael Goldtsein '13 for the program's all-time record.  
 
After a 2-0-1 road trip to begin the conference slate, Chestnut Hill College welcomes Georgian Court University to Victory Field #1 for its CACC home opener on Tuesday, September 22, at 7:00 p.m.
