Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. - (9/30/2016) – Today's 3-1 (25-14, 25-17, 19-25, 25-16) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory over Concordia College (NY) made it three wins in a row for Chestnut Hill College, who swept this week's slate of league competition with triumphs over Goldey-Beacom College, Wilmington University, and the Clippers. Chestnut Hill College (7-9, 5-3) kept their distance in the first set, leading 8-5 at the first Concordia College (0-9, 0-7) timeout. By the second the spread had reached 18-11, which was only a precursor to the 25-14 Griffin win (1-0). The second set saw the Scarlet and Gold emerge form a 9-9 tie with a Koehler kill and a pair of service aces from sophomore setter
Kennedy Sutton (Chesapeake, Va.) (12-9). The Griffin lead eventually grew to a 19-11 margin and latter a 25-17 final (2-0). The Clippers enjoyed their only success of the afternoon in the third set, where they paced Chestnut Hill College to a 25-19 final (2-1). But the fourth set would be the end of the visiting resistance as the Scarlet and Gold used a strong Sutton service to gain a 9-5 advantage that precipitated an 18-12 lead at the Clipper timeout and a 25-16 set-victory (3-1).
The Clippers offered three players with seven kills with sophomore setter Bianca Oritz (Pounce, Puerto Rico) supplying 31 assists in addition to 12 digs and a pair of block assists. Two others recorded double-digit digs; freshman libero Alana Rousset-Hernandez (Canovanas, Puerto Rico) was the leader with 18 digs.
Koehler led the Scarlet and Gold with a dozen (12) kills on an impressive .407 (12K-1E-27TA) hitting percentage. Sutton totaled three kills, 31 assists, three aces, ten digs, and four blocks, while Trabosh's hustle was complimented by nine team blocks. Cooksey finished with nine kills, two digs, and four block assists.
