Box Score 2 Newark, Del. - (9/10/2016) – The Chestnut Hill College women's volleyball team completed their play at the Wildcat Regional Invitational, where they unfortunately suffered a pair of losses today. Franklin Pierce University won the first match of the afternoon by a 3-1 (26-24, 24-26, 25-17, 25-19) final, Le Moyne College took the second from the Griffins by the same score, 3-1 (25-14, 25-15, 18-25, 26-24). Regina Trabosh (Norristown, Pa.) recorded her 2,000 dig and senior outside hitter
Madison McBride (Long Beach, Calif.) recorded her 1,000 kill versus the Ravens.
McBride killed a dozen balls in both matches. Her first 12 came with 21 digs and two blocks against the Franklin Pierce University (2-5). Sophomore setter
Kennedy Sutton (Chesapeake, Va.) helped her generate the Chestnut Hill College (2-6) offense with 31 assists, six kills, 12 digs, and two blocks, but senior middle hitter
Emily Koehler (Bath, Pa.) finished with a team-high 14.5 points with seven kills, a dig, and a single-game best 11 blocks ( four block solo, seven block assists). Trabosh totaled 29 digs to lead five Griffins in double-digit digs.
In the second match of the day, McBride's 12 kills came with two assists, an ace, and ten digs. Sophomore outside hitter
Samantha Smith (Harrisburg, Pa.) offered 11 kills, an assist, eight digs, and a block, while Sutton contributed to the Scarlet and Gold's effort against Le Moyne College (6-2) with 39 assists, four kills, five digs, and two blocks. Trabosh provided 18 digs and a pair of aces en route to an All-Tournament Team accolade.
Chestnut Hill College return home to host Felician University for a 7:00 p.m. home opener on Tuesday, September 13.
