Emily Koehler (Bath, Pa.) finished as the Griffins' top performer with 14.5 points on 14 kills and a block assist.
Chestnut Hill College (4-9, 2-3) gradually overcame Caldwell University (9-5, 2-2) in the opening set. Sophomore setter
Kennedy Sutton (Chesapeake, Va.) was dynamic, scoring three kills and directing a balanced offense that received three kills apiece from Koehler and senior outside hitter
Madison McBride (Long Beach, Calif.). Unfortunately, the Scarlet and Gold were not able to out run the Cougars in the following three frames as the home side used a two-headed attack from junior middle blocker Katrina Janssen (Seville, Australia) and junior outside hitter Taryn Auyong (Honolulu, Hawaii) to edge the Griffins in the final three frames.
Janssen and Auyoung combined for 29 kills, with the former scoring 15 points on a .371 (15K-2E-35TA) hitting percentage while the latter made 19 digs and spotted three of the Caldwell University's nine aces. Four Cougars finished with double digit digs while freshman middle blocker Avery Stanechewski (Tampa, Fla.) assisted on five blocks.
Koehler added two assists and a block to her scoring efforts. Sutton finished with five kills, 36 assists, an ace, and seven digs. Senior libero
Regina Trabosh (Norristown, Pa.) contributed three aces and 37 digs to the Chestnut Hill College performance.
