Samantha Gelfan (Chandler, Ariz.) recorded eight kills and a block assist to lead the Scarlet and Gold attack with 8.5 points, while junior setter

Peyton Reno (Wilmington, Del.) satisfied their respective roles with 21 assists and 13 digs.
A string of aces from freshman outside hitter Breanne Haley (Elkton, Md.) separated Goldey-Beacom College (9-15, 8-6) for a 10-5 lead in the opening set. Unfortunately, the Lightning advanced their lead over Chestnut Hill College (8-18, 7-7) to ten points by the end of the frame, 25-15. More Haley aces broke the Lightning out of an 8-8 stalemate and precipitated a home win in the second set as well, 25-19. With their backs against the wall, the Griffins kept the third set closer; it was knotted as late as 11-11, and saw Goldey-Beacom College distance by as many as six points, 19-13, before a Griffin rally fell short in the 25-22 end.
Haley totaled 20.5 points with 14 kills, six aces, and a block assist. She also recorded an assist and 12 digs as the Lightning's top performer. Junior Olivia Florence (Glen Allen, Va.) and freshman Sydney Fulton (Wilmington, Del.) shared the point for Goldey-Beacom College with 16 and 14 assists, respectively.
For Chestnut Hill College, Sutton added three kills and eight digs to her assists, while Reno offered an assist and three aces in excess of her digs.
The Chestnut Hill College women's volleyball team returns to Sorgenti Arena on Saturday, October 28, with a 1:00 p.m. match opposite Holy Family University.
