Devon, Pa. - (10/28/2017) – Chestnut Hill College welcomed Kutztown University, St. Peter's University, and LIU-Post to Devon Lanes for today's, Saturday, October 28, Griffin Invitational. The Scarlet and Gold finished the day 3-2 record and 5,690 pins. For the day, Freshman
Kristina Scimone (Gibbsboro, N.J.) led the team with a 184.5 pin average and a third place finish in the individual results.
Chestnut Hill College (4-10) opened the tournament with an 878-709 win versus LIU Post, led by junior
Kara Wireman (Telford, Pa.) with a 236 game and sophomore
Rebeccah Edelman (Oakford, Pa.) with a 204 game. The Scarlet and Gold got their next victory against St. Peter's University, who they defeated in their second game, 860-764. Scimone offered a 202 game.
Chestnut Hill College dropped their next game in a close call against Kutztown 798-793. They were again led by Scimone's 194 and freshman
Lauren Klein (Horsham, Pa.), who offered a 182. But it was not enough to defeat the Bears, who eventually titled in the event.
After three games, the Griffins were leading the event in total pins and paired in a two-game bracket with LIU Post. But the Pioneers pulled off the win 1764-1595. Chestnut Hill College won their final match with St. Peter's University by 19 pins, 1564-1545, to finish 3-2 in the event and improve to 4-10 on the year.
The Chestnut Hill College women's bowling team will be back in action this Friday, November 4, when they visit 30 Strikes Lanes in Stratford, New Jersey, for the Fairleigh Dickinson University Jersey Jamboree.
