It was followed by a 6-4 number two doubles win from sophomore Jesus Darias (Bolivar, Venezuela) and junior Antoine Gautier (Bordeaux, France), which clinched the doubles point for the Griffins, 1-0. Unfortunately, the Scarlet and Gold were unable to sweep the round as Jefferson (1-2) earned a 6-4 win at number one doubles.

Junior Erik Jorsal (Mudgeeraba, Australia) added to the Griffin lead with the first point of individual play as he triumphed 6-3, 7-5, at number four singles, 2-0. But that is when the Rams responded, closing to within one point with back-to-back wins at number two (6-3, 5-7, 6-4) and number one (6-4, 7-6 (11-9)) singles, 3-2. Chestnut Hill College finally added the clincher at number six singles, where Gavin offered a 6-1, 6-2, victory. Adler added the final Griffin point with his 6-4, 6-4, win at number five singles.
