Philadelphia, Pa. – (10/31/2018) – Concluding their 2018 home schedule in grand fashion, Chestnut Hill College recovered from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Felician University by a 3-2 (25-23, 22-25, 19-25, 25-21, 15-10) margin in this evening's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match. Along the way, senior setter
Kennedy Sutton (Chesapeake, Va.) made history with the 3,500
th assist of her collegiate career. She finished the match with 42 assists in all, helping junior middle hitter
Cassie Callahan (St. Louis, Mo.) (17 kills), junior outside hitter
Reily Byxbee (Madison, Conn.) (15), and freshman right side
Lauren Lipinski (Gilbert, Ariz.) (10) to double digit kills.

After giving up the first point of the evening, Chestnut Hill College (10-18, 7-11) paced Felician University (12-17, 7-11) the rest of the way in a 25-23 win (1-0). But the second set went completely in the opposite direction with the Griffins scoring the first point and the Golden Falcons leading for the remainder of a 25-22 end (1-1). An early run gave Felician University the separation they needed to extend their lead in the third set, 25-19 (2-1), but the resilient Griffins united for a late fourth-set rally that helped them even the score with a 25-21 triumph (2-2). In the deciding set, the Scarlet and Gold needed one more rally to put away the Golden Falcons as they recovered from an early 3-1 deficit to tie the visitors at 4-4 and lead them the rest of the way in a 15-10 conclusion (3-2). Sutton secured her historical set on the Griffins' first point (1-0) of the final frame.
Freshman outside hitter Kahea Aea (Mililani, Hawaii) was Felician University's top performer with a match-high 21.5 points. She offered 20 kills on a .288 (20K-3E-59TA) hitting percentage in addition to an ace, 22 digs, and a block assist. Senior outside hitter Paulina Calero (El Centro, Calif.) and senior opposite Baylei Furman (Kaneohe, Hawaii) also contributed double digit points; the former recorded 16 kills, an ace, and three block assists (17.5 points), while the latter totaled 10 kills and four block assists (12.0 points). Junior setter Charlotte Greek (Menifee, Calif.) offered 45 assists and was one of five Golden Falcons with double digit digs. Freshman libero Sierra Gallagher (Honolulu, Hawaii) was chief among them with 30.
Callahan benefitted the most from Sutton's point play with a team-high 17 kills and a team-best .234 (17K-6E-47TA) hitting percentage. She totaled 19.0 points in all with an additional ace and two block assists, while also recording a team-high 27 digs. Byxbee finished with 15 kills, four assists, 18 digs, and three block assists. Lipinski offered 10 kills, 11 digs, and a block assist. Sophomore middle hitter
Ragen Baldwin (Lancaster, Pa.) was the fourth Griffins with double digit points, offering 10 with eight kills, a solo block, and two block assists. Sutton added two kills, 10 digs, and three block assists to her historic evening. Junior libero
Janie Green (Hayes, Va.) helped solidify the Chestnut Hill College defense with 25 digs.
