Newark, Del. – (10/9/2018) – Concluding their first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South Division series of the season, Chestnut Hill College visited Wilmington University for tonight's league match. Unfortunately, the Wildcats got revenge for the Griffins' September victory, landing seven aces and forcing the Scarlet and Gold into 24 hitting errors to earn a 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-19) win. Cassie Callahan (St. Louis, Mo.) led Chestnut Hill College with 13.5 points on a dozen (12) kills, an ace, and a block assist. Senior setter
Kennedy Sutton (Chesapeake, Va.) provided an assist on 26 of the Scarlet and Gold's 28 kills, while joining Callahan as one of four Griffins with double digit digs.
Wilmington University (15-9, 9-3) held a slight advantage, 7-5, in the opening set until the service of junior libero
Janie Green (Hayes, Va.) helped Chestnut Hill College (5-15, 3-8) procure an 11-7 lead. Bu the pendulum soon swung back in the home team's favor as the Wildcats rallied for a 13-11 edge before leading 20-14 and 23-15 in an eventual 25-18 Wildcat end (1-0). The Griffins were able to keep the second set tighter, as they deadlocked with Wilmington University as late as 14-14. Unfortunately, the Wildcats scored 11 of the next 14 points, 25-17, to take a 2-0 edge in the match. The home team emerged again in the third set, as a Callahan kill evened the score at 17-17 only for Wilmington University to outscore the Griffins 8-2 the rest of the way in a 25-19 conclusion (3-0).
Sophomore outside hitter Bailey Andrews (Owings Mills, Md.) headlined the Wilmington University scoring with 14 points on a dozen (12) kills on a .423 (12K-1E-26TA) hitting percentage, a solo block, and two block assists. Junior setter Jill Braunsberg (Birdsboro, Pa.) kept her busy with 15 assists in excess of four kills and 12 digs. Graduate libero Jenna Brown (Darnestown, Md.) lead the Wildcats' defensive efforts with 24 digs.

Lauren Lipinski (Gilbert, Ariz.) helped keep Chestnut Hill College in contention with seven kills, an ace, eight digs, and a block assist. Green led four Griffins in double digit digs with her 13; junior outside hitter
Reily Byxbee (Madison, Conn.) hustled to 12 digs, while Callahan and Sutton each offered 10.
Chestnut Hill College breaks from their CACC schedule one last time on Thursday, October 11, when they visit Queens College for a 7:00 p.m. match.
