West Chester, Pa. – (11/17/2018) – The freshmen duo of guard
Trevonn Pitts (Wyncote, Pa.) and forward
Keyon Butler (Chester, Pa.) continued to shine for Chestnut Hill College, but tonight West Chester University hit 10 of 16 (10-of-16, .625) first half three point shots to present the Griffins with what proved to be an insurmountable 65-27 halftime deficit. Eventually, the Golden Rams' hot hand and rebounding advantage, 50-21, earned them a 107-71 win despite 17 points apiece from Pitts and Butler.
West Chester University (1-2) wasted little time asserting themselves on their home floor as they recorded their first 11 points of the affair in the opening three minutes (11-0, 16:46). The run forced Chestnut Hill College (2-3) to play catch up the rest of the way. Unfortunately, the Golden Rams' did not let up, using a 53.3% (24-of-45) field goal percentage and their 10 three point baskets to grow their advantage to 19 points, 23-4, just after the 14-minute mark (13:55) and 38 points, 65-27 (00:25) just before halftime. After intermission, Chestnut Hill College immediately went to Butler. The freshman post scored six of the Griffins' first eight points in the frame, while Pitts provided the other two (70-35, 17:09). Unfortunately, the Scarlet and Gold was unable to make any headway as West Chester University's lead never dipped below thirty points in the latter 20 minutes of play.

Hyland was 8-of-12 (.667) from the floor and 6-of-7 (.857) from the free throw line while recording five rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Meanwhile, Jackson hit 8-of-15 (.533) from the floor and spearheaded the Golden Rams' outside shooting performance with a 7-of-11 (.636) effort from long range.
