Penmen Pace Griffins in Non-Conference Fray

Manchester, N.H. – (11/25/2018) – Road woes continued today, Sunday, November 25, for Chestnut Hill College who had trouble finding their shot (20-of-61, .328) in an 85-51 loss at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU). The Scarlet and Gold received double digit efforts from freshman guard Lauren Crim (Warrington, Pa.) and senior forward Jaeda Wildgoose (Somerset, N.J.); the former hit 3-of-5 (.600) from three point territory in a 14-point performance, while the latter paired her 11 points with a team-high six rebounds.

SNHU (6-0) outscored Chestnut Hill College (1-4) 20-9 in the first quarter. The advantage helped the Penmen take a 38-23 halftime lead as the home team shot 46.9% (15-of-32) from the floor and dominated the glass (22-9 rebounds) in the first two quarters. In the third quarter, SNHU pushed the deficit past 30 points with 4:30 (56-25) remaining and as many as 34 points, 65-31, with 1:32 left in the frame. Fortunately, a Wildgoose layup and a Crim three pointer brought the difference to 29 points, 65-36 (0:09). However, at the start of the fourth quarter a 10-0 run pushed the Penmen's lead to 39 points, 75-36, which proved to be an insurmountable figure for the Griffins in a 34-point, 85-51, final.

SNHU placed three players in double digits; senior forward Kylie Lorenzen (Holliston, Mass.) was top among them with 13 points in excess of nine rebounds, three assists, a block, and a steal. Additionally, junior guard Molly Terry (Shrewsbury, Mass.) offered 12 points and sophomore guard Gyanna Russell (E. Hampton, Conn.) provided 11 points.

In addition to Crim and Wildgoose, sophomore guard Cassie Sebold (Willow Grove, Pa.) was a factor for the Griffins as well with six points (2-of-6, .333 3PT), three rebounds, three assists, a block, and a steal.

Chestnut Hill College continues their non-conference schedule on Tuesday, November 27, when they visit Bloomsburg University for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
