Cassie Sebold (Willow Grove, Pa.), logged double-figures in today's matchup against Roberts Wesleyan University (RWU), unfortunately their efforts were not enough to top them. The Griffins outscored the Redhawks in the first quarter, 13-19, but a substantial surge in the the second quarter the momentum leading into the 81-62 final.
Chestnut Hill College (1-6) edged RWU (4-2) in the first quarter led by Sebold with seven points, 13-19. At the start of the second period, the Griffins extended their largest lead of the night to 10 (15:25, 9:10), thanks to back-to-back three-pointers from Glen and freshman guard
Lauren Crim (Warrington, Pa.). After Glenn's second three-pointer (22-30, 7:04), the Redhawks' intensity shifted causing three turnovers during their 13-point run to put them up 35-30 (3:52, 2
nd QRT). By the end of the half, the Griffins struggled to combat the Redhawks, ultimately ending the frame down by 11 (43-32). About four-minutes into the new half, the Scarlet and Gold chipped away at RWU cutting the lead to as little as six-points, 49-43 (6:50, 3
rd QRT). Unfortunately, the Redhawks found their rhythm and capitalized off of their efforts, leaving the Griffins behind for the remainder of the second half, resulting in the 81-62 loss.
Four players from Roberts Wesleyan University scored in double-figures, three of which scored over 15 points. Leading the pack was junior guard Sara Nady (Cairo, Egypt) with 19-points (1REB, 9AST, 1STL), followed by a double-double performance from junior forward Emily Miller (Buffalo, N.Y.) (13REB, 1AST, 5STL), and rounding them out was senior guard Taylor Bynoe (Williamstown, N.J.) and junior forward Tashayla Sutorius (Fort Wayne, Ind.) logging 16-points and 13 points respectively.
Wildgoose headlined for Chestnut Hill College with 14-points (4-for-9, 6-for-6 FT), while also recording two rebounds and one assist. Sebold was next in the lineup with 12-points (.333, .25 3PT), two rebounds, and a game-high five assists. Glenn went 3-for-6 behind the arc that was included in her 11-points for the night.
