Port Jefferson, N.Y. - (3/24/2018) – The first match today of today's competition at the East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Bowling Championship Tournament, the Griffins faced #2 seed Franklin Pierce University. After Chestnut Hill College got off to a 2-0 start, FPU won the next 4 games to take the round. Freshman Lauren Klein (Horsham, Pa.) led the team this set, filling 11-of-12 frames.

The Griffins then matched up in the first round of the losers' bracket in the double elimination format against Wilmington University. Chestnut Hill College won 4-1 and was led by freshman Kristina Scimone (Gibbsboro, N.J.), who filled 9-of-10 frames. Sophomore Rebeccah Edelman (Oakford, Pa.) converted the 3-4-10 split in the 10^th frame of the first game to win by one pin.

Next the Griffins then faced Robert Wesleyan College. After tying the first game and losing the next on by one pin, Chestnut Hill College reeled off four straight wins to advance. Junior Kara Wireman (Telford, Pa.) was a perfect 12-of-12 in filled frames against the Redhawks.

Daeman College was the next opponent for the Griffins. The Scarlet and Gold started out strong, led by Edelman's 14-of-14 filled frames effort. Chestnut Hill College took a 3-0 lead but was overcome by the Wildcats.
