Caldwell, N.J. – (9/15/2018) – Chestnut Hill College traveled to Caldwell University for this afternoon's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match, where the Cougars used a pair of 25-20 wins to earn a 3-1 (25-17, 17-25, 25-20, 25-20) victory over the Griffins. The Scarlet and Gold recorded their lone set-win in the second frame with a .290 (13K-4E-31TA) team hitting percentage and a .720 (13-of-18) side-out percentage. Freshman right side

Cassie Callahan (St. Louis, Mo.) both reached double digit kills, the latter also recorded 13 digs to help junior libero
Janie Green (Hayes, Va.) (19 digs) and junior outside hitter
Reily Byxbee (Madison, Conn.) (23) captained the Scarlet and Gold's defensive efforts.
Caldwell University (5-8, 4-0) paced Chestnut Hill College (3-8, 1-3) in the opening set, gradually growing a 19-9 advantage, before securing a 25-17 win. The Griffins returned the favor in the second set, where a balanced Scarlet and Gold attack led 18-10 prior to their matching 25-17 victory. Unfortunately, Chestnut Hill College could not continue their efficient play as the Cougars kept their distance in a 25-20 third-set final and edged out the Griffins in an identical 25-20 fourth-set win.
Freshman setter Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) spread the ball around as four Cougars recorded at least five kills in the match. She totaled 19 assists and was also one of four to record double digits digs for Caldwell University, who additionally benefitted from 10 team blocks.
Lipinski led the Griffins with 17 points, adding a pair of blocks to her team-high 15 kills. Callahan finished with a dozen (12) kills to complete her third double-double in the last four matches. Senior setter

Chestnut Hill College returns to Sorgenti Arena on Wednesday, September 19, when they host Bloomfield College in a 7:00 p.m. CACC match.
