Kennedy Sutton (Chesapeake, Va.), Chestnut Hill College enjoyed their best performance of the season as a .343 (51K-16E-102TA) team hitting percentage precipitated a 3-1 (25-17, 25-13, 17-25, 25-21) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) triumph at Post University. Junior middle hitter

Lauren Lipinski (Gilbert, Ariz.) each scored double digit kills, but the last of the three also spotted six of the Griffins' 17 aces.
Chestnut Hill College (5-11, 3-5) was only slowed in the third set, where the Eagles interrupted the sweep with their 25-17 win. In the opening set, the Griffins rallied from an early 5-1 deficit to tie the score at 10-10, before building a 19-15 edge and using a pair of Lipinski aces to facilitate a 25-17 (1-0) victory. The Scarlet and Gold broke away from a 7-7 tie in the second set on Lipinski's serve; she spotted two aces in the seven point run that gave the Griffins a 14-7 cushion. From there, Chestnut Hill College continued to extend their advantage, separating for a 21-8 lead before taking the set 25-13 (2-0). Post University (8-11, 5-3) looked to get back into the fray with a 25-17 (2-1) third set win, but the Griffins were back on their game in the fourth set, using another a rally to recover from an 8-5 Eagle edge to tie the set at 8-8 and lead 15-10 before posting a 25-21 (3-1) victory.
Senior opposite Madison Hunziker (Sacramento, Calif.) was one of three Eagles to score at least 10 points; she finished the match with a team-high 14 kills, two aces, five digs, and two solo blocks. Senior setter Brianna Root (Bristol, Conn.) offered a kill, 37 assists, an ace, five digs, and a solo block.
Callahan and Byxbee each finished the match with 16 points; the former recorded 15 kills, an assist, three digs, and a solo block, while the latter offered 14 kills, two assists, two aces, and six digs. Sutton added an ace and a dig to her assists, while Lipinski also recorded an assist and a dig. Freshman defensive specialist
Kerri Sullivan (West Brandywine, Pa.) was a major contributor to the win as well with six aces.
Chestnut Hill College returns to Sorgenti Arena on Wednesday, October 3, when they host Georgian Court University in a 7:00 p.m. match.
