Rutherford, N.J. - (10/12/2019) – Today's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match came down to a deciding set as Chestnut Hill College and Felician University traded wins in the first four frames of the affair. The Golden Falcons took the first and third by matching 25-16 finals, while the Griffins interrupted any hope of an early end with respective wins of 25-17 and 25-21 in the second and fourth sets. In the fifth set, Felician University paced the Scarlet and Gold to a 15-13 end that secured the match in their favor; 3-2 (16-25, 25-17, 16-25, 25-21, 13-15). Junior outside hitter
Corrine Kalala (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) led the Griffins in points, scoring a career-high 21.5 with 18 kills, two solo blocks, and three block assists. Meanwhile, freshman setter
Henielys Ramos (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) recorded her sixth triple-double performance of the season with 11 kills, 25 assists, and 15 digs.
Felician University (9-12, 7-1) gradually pulled away from Chestnut Hill College (8-9, 5-4) in the opening set, leading by as many as 10 points, 22-12, before claiming the point with a 25-16 win. The Scarlet and Gold got even in the second set with a 25-17 win that featured five kills from Kalala. The Golden Falcons resumed their edge with another 25-16 win, this time pulling away in the latter half of the third frame with a 13-6 closing run. The Griffins got their revenge in the fourth set, owning a 13-5 lead before evening the match with a 25-21 win. In the fifth set, the Griffins and Golden Falcons were tied as late as a 9-9 stalemate. Unfortunately, Felician University grabbed the advantage, forcing a Chestnut Hill College timeout with a 12-9 lead in hand. Afterwards, a late Griffin rally reduced the deficit to a single point, 14-13, and triggered a Golden Falcon timeout. But they recorded the match-winner just minutes later, ending set on a 15-13 spread.
Three Golden Falcons recorded 10 kills or more; sophomore outside hitter Maddie Sloan (Caldwell, N.J.) led the group with 15. She and senior opposite Kali Vodrazka (Bayonne, N.J.) both totaled 16.5 points; Sloan added an ace and a block assist to her kills, while Vodrazka paired her 14 kills with five block assists. Meanwhile, freshman setter Miquela Martinez (Santa Fe, N.M.) supplied 43 assists and sophomore libero Sierra Gallagher (Honolulu, Hawaii) led for Golden Falcons in double digits digs with 23.

Reily Byxbee (Madison, Conn.) led four Griffins with double digit digs, totaling 20 in the affair. She also recorded nine kills, an assist, and two aces.
Chestnut Hill College return to Sorgenti Arena on Wednesday, October 16, when they host CACC South rival, University of the Sciences (USciences) in a 7:00 p.m. Side-out Foundation Dig Pink event.
