The Lions hit .330 (41K-9E-97TA) as a team to pace the Griffins to a three-set end (3-0) with consecutive wins of 25-16, 25-15, 25-18. Junior outside hitter
Corrine Kalala (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) led the Scarlet and Gold in points with nine kills.
Chestnut Hill College (9-11, 6-6) grabbed an early 6-3 lead on Georgian Court University (18-5, 9-2), but the Lions soon got comfortable on the Sorgenti Arena floor as they tied the match at 6-6 and quickly pulled away in a 25-16 end. The Lions carried their momentum into the second set and narrowly led the Griffins to an 8-8 stalemate. Twin Kalala kills gave the Scarlet and Gold a brief 10-8 advantage, but Georgian Court University soon recovered with a 13-5 closing run; 25-15. Up two sets, the Lions leaped out to a 15-6 perch in the third set. Chestnut Hill College's fleeting rally narrowed the gap to as few as five points, 17-12, but fell shy of its mark in a 25-18 conclusion.
Sophomore outside hitter Kinsey Haschke (Mont Belvieu, Texas) headlined the Lions' efficient offense with a match-high 11 kills on a .400 (11K-3E-20TA) hitting percentage. She also recorded 13 digs and a solo block. Junior setters Jaime Sweeney (Toms River, N.J.) and Ashley Pierson (Rogersville, Mo.) split 34 assists; the former also provided an ace and three digs, while the latter additionally supplied an ace and two digs. Senior libero Emily McCurley (Monument, Colo.) captained the Lions' defense with 10 digs.
