Chestnut Hill College (9-11, 6-6) grabbed an early 6-3 lead on Georgian Court University (18-5, 9-2), but the Lions soon got comfortable on the Sorgenti Arena floor as they tied the match at 6-6 and quickly pulled away in a 25-16 end. The Lions carried their momentum into the second set and narrowly led the Griffins to an 8-8 stalemate. Twin Kalala kills gave the Scarlet and Gold a brief 10-8 advantage, but Georgian Court University soon recovered with a 13-5 closing run; 25-15. Up two sets, the Lions leaped out to a 15-6 perch in the third set.
