Caldwell, N.J. – (2/9/2019) – Today's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action brought Chestnut Hill College to Caldwell University, where the Cougars protected their home court in a 72-55 final. Caldwell University led from beginning to end, pacing the Scarlet and Gold to a 37-22 halftime spread and leading the Griffins by as many as 29 points, 60-31, in the second half. Juston Bailey (Riverdale, Ma.) (12), and three of their classmates combined for 40 of the Griffins' 55 points.
Caldwell University (13-10, 9-5) opened the game with a steal and a dunk (2-0, 19:43) and never looked back as they led Chestnut Hill College (3-19, 0-13) by 10 points, 15-5, with 14:10 remaining in the first half and only allowed the Griffins reduce the difference to single digits once – 27-19 on a three pointer from senior forward
Ed McWade (Wildwood, N.J.) – en route to a 37-22 halftime spread. The Cougars pushed their position to 20-plus points early in the second half, 42-22 (17:44), and maxed it at 29 points, 60-31 (9:24), before the nine-minute mark. Led by its first-year members, Chestnut Hill College whittled the final difference to 17 points, 72-55 (0:32).
Junior guard A.J. Kittles (Glassboro, N.J.) led Caldwell University with 18 points, five rebounds, an assist, and a steal. He was complimented by a balanced team effort that hit 27-of-65 (.415) from the floor and 13-of-20 (.650) from the free throw line.
Warrick came off the bench to headline the Chestnut Hill College youth with 14 points, five rebounds, an assist, a block, and a steal. Bailey totaled 12 points, three rebounds, and an assist.
Chestnut Hill College resumes their CACC schedule on Saturday, February 16, with a 3:00 p.m. contest home contest versus Felician University.
