Lafayette Hill, Pa. – (3/21/2019) – Tonight, Chestnut Hill College took on #25 Bloomsburg University in a wet and windy non-conference matchup that ended in an 18-3 loss at Victory Field #1. The Huskies notched 13 of their goals in the first period, which put the Griffins in an unrecoverable position for the rest of the match. Senior midfielder
Julia Reinert (Bridgeport, Pa.), junior attack
Haley Norwillo (Duryea, Pa.), and senior defender
Kaley Malampy (Ridley Park, Pa.) logged one goal apiece.
After Bloomsburg University (6-1) went on an early 7-0 run, Malampy recorded Chestnut Hill College's (1-4) first goal with 14:22 (7-1) remaining in the first period. Unfortunately, that was the only goal the Griffins netted in the first half while the Huskies tacked on six more by the break, 13-1. In the second half, Norwillo (12:12, 17-2) and Reinert (10:34, 17-3) made back-to-back goals, but their efforts were not enough to turn the tide in an 18-3 final.
Senior attack Hannah Jaskuta (Gilbertsville, Pa.) headlined Bloomsburg University with five goals, two assists, and two ground balls, while sophomore midfielder Abby Bergman (Collegeville, Pa.) followed with three goals of her own.
Senior goalkeeper
Valeria Amaya (Oakland, Calif.) made 8 saves (1-4).
The Chestnut Hill College women's lacrosse play their first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Saturday, March 30, at 2:30 p.m. against Post University at Victory Field #1.
